Happy Father’s Day to a boy’s first hero and a girl’s first love. Baba is our backbone. For some he is a guardian angel. Not only in real life but in movies too, we have seen fathers go out of their way to make things right. Oh, and, when of a soldier Vikram Rathore aka Shah Rukh Khan said, “Talk to your parents before touching your child.“We all felt it strongly. It was a goosebumps moment, wasn’t it? Over the years, Bollywood has blessed us with some wonderful on-screen fathers. As we celebrate the most important man in our lives, we pay a tribute to the beloved on-screen paps. Let’s take a quick look.

Shah Rukh Khan – Kuch kuch hota hai (Netflix)

Is there a better way to start this list? We don’t think so. Shah Rukh Khan Rahul Khanna was the best. 8-year-old girl Anjali (Sana Saeed) and his equation won millions of hearts. Karan Johar’s directorial debut also stars Rani Mukerji and Kajol.

Aamir Khan – Riot (Prime Video)

Remember when Mahavir Phogat (Aamir Khan) said, “What do you do with big thieves?” The film revolves around Mahavir Phogat and how he trains his daughters to become professional wrestlers. RiotDirected by Nitesh Tiwari, it also featured Fatima Sana Shaikh Sanya Malhotra.

Ty Burrell Modern Family (Hotstar)

Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) is one of our on-screen fathers. Courtesy: His attempts to bond with his three children Haley Dunphy, Luke Dunphy and Alex Dunphy. Phil acts like a parent, but talks like a peer, calling this concept “parenting”. Modern Family is an American television sitcom series that premiered in 2009. It also stars Sofia Vergara, Sarah Hyland and Julie Bowen.

Pankaj Tripathi- Gunjan Saxena (Netflix)

Inspired by true events, Gunjan Saxena’s story (Janhvi Kapoor), would have been incomplete without her supportive father Anup Saxena (Pankaj Tripathi). The film showed how Anup Saxena gave Gunjan wings to fly.

Irfan Khan – English medium (Hotstar)

Late actor Irrfan Khan’s last release talked about the precious bond between his character Champak Bansal and his daughter Tarika Bansal (Radhika Madan). Released in 2020, the film also featured Deepak Dobriyal and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles.
