Prajakta Koli was honored with the Climate Influencer of the Year award at the NDTV Indian of the Year event held in New Delhi on Saturday. She received this award from Sania Mirza. After receiving the award, Prajakta Koli thanked the country for allowing such a conversation. As a content creator, she believes she has a huge role to play in creating climate awareness. Prajakta, who is an actress herself, said that acting and creating awareness comes with its own challenges. As an environmentalist, Prajak suggested people to practice waste sorting and recycling. FYI, in 2022, UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) appointed India’s first Youth Climate Champion. In January 2023, Prajakta participated in the World Economic Forum held in Davos. As one of six content creators invited globally to the event, Prajakta participated in discussions focused on critical topics such as climate action, social justice and global healthcare.
Prajakta acted in web series Mismatched, Comedy Premium League, Andhera. She acted in films like Jugjag Jio, Yeh Shaadi Nahin Ho Shakti. She has singles like Besharam, No Offense, Yeh This Gaana Hai.
Speaking at the NDTV Indian of the Year, Hon’ble Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was the Chief Guest, along with other dignitaries including Union Ministers Hardeep Puri, Ashwini Vaishnav and Smriti Zubin Irani. The event featured some of the biggest names in entertainment, politics, business, sports and culture. This year the theme of the event was “India – A Transformative Power”. These awards have consistently honored India’s heroes, famous or unseen, for their extraordinary contribution to society.
