The actress has undergone a rigorous training program to play Mahima in the film, which also stars Rajkummar Rao. On Friday, Janhvi shared a glimpse into her intense cricket training sessions for the role. The video reads “150+ days of training, 30+ days of shooting, 2 injuries, 1 film”. Throughout the clip, we see Janhvi practicing at the nets dressed as a cricketer. The clip shows Janhvi’s hard work and dedication as she bats, runs between the wickets and injures her shoulder after being hit by the ball. In her caption, Janhvi Kapoor simply wrote, “#MrandMrsMahi in theaters on May 31.”

Reacting to the post, Janhvi Kapoor’s rumored boyfriend Shikhar Paharia It wrote “The best of the best” and added heart eyes and a red heart emoji. Janhvi’s fitness coach Namrata Purohit said, “Can’t wait to see it! I know how much you put into it.”

The clip had a director Sharan Sharma Janhvi Kapoor talks about the physical challenges she faced during her training. “So, we discovered that she has something called MDI, which is multidirectional instability, which is apparently very good for dancers, but not so good for cricketers,” the filmmaker said. So now, in the space of two months, she has torn ligaments in her left and right shoulder. And now, we get down to a place, we’re like, ‘Okay, how do we make this movie?’ But I think we gave her all the proper rehab and all the time she needed to recover from the injury.

In the same video, Janhvi Kapoor’s cricket coach, Abhishek Nair also shared how the actress trained hard for the film. He said, “We went to Baroda for a camp. Dinesh was also with us when we were there for a 6 day camp. So, we got a lot of experience working with some of these international cricketers, understanding body language and how they move. From the little things like how they walk, how they tap, how they handle their defenders. In terms of training, I think he was as tough as anyone preparing for the IPL, if not more so.”

Mr. and Mrs. Mahi The film will hit the screens on May 31. The film is jointly backed by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions.
