A page on Instagram called ‘Bolivert AI’ reimagined the film with Kareena Kapoor as Gangubai Kathiawadi and the video has gone viral. “What if Karina Gangubai was in Kathiawadi?” Read the title of the video. Alia Bhatt played the role of Gangubai Kathiawadi in the film – a sex worker from Kamathipura, Mumbai, who was forced into prostitution at a young age. The film depicts her journey as the head of a brothel and political leader of Kamathipura.

There were mixed feelings about the Internet featuring an AI version Kareena Kapoor. Some fans felt that Alia was the right choice for the role. “No, Alia pulled it off well,” wrote one user. Another user wrote, “She couldn’t have acted like Alia.” Another added, “Kareena couldn’t have played a character like Alia.” Another section of the internet was rooting for Kareena. One comment read, “Kareena looks so original.” Another added, “She nailed it as Jasmine in 2004.” A third read, “Though it’s in AI, Kareena looks much better than Alia in this character.” Another added, “Kareena in Chameli bore a close resemblance to Gangubai.”
