Dia Mirza’s step daughter Samaira doesn’t call her ‘mom’. Here’s why

The best mother award is given Dia Mirza, the actress shares an amazing bond with her son Avyan and step-daughter Samaira. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Dia opened up about her equation Samaira. In conversation with News18 Showsha, the actress said, “She didn’t call me Ma. I don’t expect her to call me ‘Ma’, ‘Mamma’ or ‘Mother’. She has a mother whom she calls ‘mamma’ or ‘mother’. She calls me ‘Diya’.” Talking about Samaira’s influence on her son, Diya added, “Thanks to her now even Avyan calls me ‘Diya’ once in a while. He says ‘diya ai’, it’s so funny. Diya got married to Vaibhav Rekhi in 2021. The couple welcomed their son Avyan in the same year. Samaira is Vaibhav’s daughter with his ex-wife Sunaina Rekhi.

During this discussion Dia Mirza also recalled the moment when Aviation First said “Mamma”. “Oh my God, I will never forget that day. He said Mamma much later. I think it was a good three months after he started speaking words. It was a beautiful moment because all the flowers were blooming on the balcony and butterflies were visiting the flowers and he was in my arms,” she said.

“I was showing him butterflies and I was going through the trees because there were three to four butterflies for him to get a closer look at. He suddenly looked at me and said, ‘Mamma’, I said ‘Oh my God! what happened now Interestingly, my husband had a camera and was recording me showing the butterflies to Avyan, so we captured the entire moment on camera. It was magical,” added Dia Mirza.

Dia Mirza never fails to express her love and admiration for Samaira and Avyan. on Samaira’s 15th birthday, Dia shared pictures of the mother-daughter duo setting goals. Wishing the girl a happy birthday, Dia wrote, “Happy 15th birthday baby. I will keep your heart in my heart forever.”

Dia Mirza was last seen on the work front thump thump Directed by Tarun Dudeja, the film also featured Sanjana Sanghi, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ratna Pathak Shah in lead roles.
