“Doesn’t seem to be a real enough problem”

Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao are engaged in the campaign of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, the duo recently sat down for a chat with Karan Johar. In an interview published on the official YouTube page of Dharma ProductionsJanhvi opens up about dealing with trolls. It all started when KJo asked the actress if trolls affect her. To which Janhvi responded, “Karan, I think a lot. But it has been my life for as long as I can remember. And I don’t think it’s a very healthy thing but I think my biggest problem is that I didn’t let myself feel bad about it. In my head, it’s always the same as other people. And it feels kind of phoney for me to sit here and be like, ‘I got trolled. It’s difficult.’ It doesn’t seem like a real-enough problem because it’s not a relevant enough problem for the common man and it’s a privilege problem. “

“It’s like a bitter pill I swallowed. It doesn’t hurt me that much. I think it bothers me more when things are said about people I care about.” Janhvi Kapoor added

When asked if comments about her body bothered her, Janhvi Kapoor recounted a childhood incident. “I think that’s also an aspect that I’ve been navigating for a long time,” she said. I remember, I think, the first time I was recognized by the media was when I was 12 or 13 years old. I went to an event with my mom and dad and my photos were in the media. And I think Instagram or social media was just starting to boom. And I thought my pictures looked like pornographic sites. And the kids in my school were laughing at it. It was a very strange thing to navigate but I’ve been navigating it for a long time.”
