In a recent interview with ANI, Fardeen opened up about his comeback, saying that he is a “newcomer”.

“I am very excited but also very nervous. A lot has changed in these 12 years… the level of films has changed. A thing or two from him.”

He also shared how Bhansali allows the actors to “bring depth to the roles”.

Fardeen continued, “For me, it was something I’ve never done and it was the perfect role for me. At the age I’m at, to come back to the screen, you have a certain life experience, and wisdom, and the level that you bring to Sanjay in all his characters. You can contribute to what’s written, and he has this intuitive knowledge, but at the same time, when you look at it all together, I’m very grateful for this opportunity and very happy to be here.”

Starring a talented cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badusha, Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman, ‘Hiramandi’ will release on May 1 on Netflix. Set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s, the project promises to be an epic saga of love, power, revenge and freedom.
