Fardeen Khan All set to make a comeback through the series Hiramandi: Diamond Bazaar. He will play the role of Wali Mohammed. The Netflix show directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali will release on May 1. In a recent interview Pinkvilla, Fardeen recalled a meeting with the filmmaker in the early 2000s, where the actor was “cruelly rejected”. Fardeen said, “You know I am going to tell a story that I reminded Sanjay Sir when I went to meet him for Wali Mohammad. I went to his office in the early 2000s to look for work, obviously to have the opportunity to work with him. He met me, we sat, we talked for about 10-15 minutes. He said, ‘You know Fardeen I don’t think we can work because I don’t see that fire in your eyes.’
“Of course it felt cruel at the time and I told him this time that even though it felt cruel at the time, that’s what I wanted to hear, what I needed to hear instead. I thanked him for that. He never told me that I wanted to be cast in Black. I am hearing this for the first time. But I am very grateful to have had this opportunity to work with such a skilled craftsman. It is a wonderful learning experience. It has enriched me on many levels,” added Fardeen Khan.
Hiramandi: Diamond Bazaar Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sharmeen Segal are in the lead roles.
In chat with etimes, Sonakshi SinhaPlaying a negative role in the serial, she expressed her long-standing desire to play an antagonist. She said, “I’ve always wanted to play a villain, like a dark character because dad started his career and that’s on my bucket list. I am very happy and very excited about this role.”
Sonakshi Sinha added, “I just want to play a good character and play different roles and I am constantly striving for that. Over the past few years, I have been choosing different roles to play on screen- such as strong female roles and that is what I want to remember and Hiramandi Thanks Sanjay sir.
It also stars Taha Shah, Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman Hiramandi: Diamond Bazaar.
