HiramandiActress Shruti Sharma is getting a lot of love and appreciation for her role in the Netflix series. Her performance as Saima has been widely praised, with some claiming that she has outdone Sharmeen Segal, who plays Alamjeb, the central character in the series. For reference, Saima works in the kitchen of the Shahi Mahal and acts as one of Alamzeb’s confidants in the show. Alamjeb is the daughter of Mallikajan by Manisha Koirala, the chief courtesan of Heeramandi. Meanwhile, Sharmeen, who is also the niece of the show’s producer, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has started the dynastic chatter, which has led to online trolls targeting her. When Shruti was asked to share her thoughts on the matter, she said: Pinkvilla, “Honestly, I didn’t know people were trolling her. I don’t know what the audience likes or dislikes about Sharmeen, but I have seen her try her best on the sets just like everyone else. It doesn’t matter who is being trolled, but trolling is a bad thing.”

“Criticism is one thing; Healthy criticism is always welcome, but trolling is unacceptable. This is a very negative way to approach anyone. This is a form of mental torture. If that is happening, I am very worried about her right now,” the actress added.

When asked about being compared to Sharmeen Segal, Shruti Sharma said: “I am happy with Saima. If Sanjay sir is up to something, he is wise enough to choose his actors. I’m sure it’s very well thought out. You cannot doubt his vision. He has given history to Indian cinema. Sanjay sir is what we are talking about.”
