Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood, opened up about how his divorce from ex-wife Avantika Malik affected him. In a chat with Humans of Bombay, the actor admitted that he went through a bad phase after the breakup. “When I broke up in 2019, I was at my weakest—emotionally and physically. I would say, I would describe it as a shell of a man. Brushing my teeth and showering were the most important thing. I dragged myself out of bed,” he said. Couldn’t even get up, I’d stay in my pyjamas, ring the doorbell, lock the door and just do the vegetables.”
“I had parental duties, we split custody so from Thursday to Sunday, my daughter would be with me. So the day she is with me, it doesn’t matter how weak I feel, whatever, you have to get out there,” he added.
On the personal front, Imran Khan made his relationship with Lekha Washington official a few months ago. In an interview with Vogue in March, Imran acknowledged his relationship with Lekha Washington and corrected the story that his girlfriend was known as a “homewrecker”. Imran Khan told Vogue, “The speculation that I am romantically involved with Lekha Washington is true. I am divorced and separated since February 2019.” He added, “This is the story of Lekha being a burglar, which irks me because it is not only misogynistic but also removes my agency as a person.”
Talking about his intimacy with Lekha and how it started, Imran said, “Lekha and I grew close during the lockdown, a year and a half after separation from Avantika and almost a year after separation from her partner, not her husband. as it has been widely reported.”
Lately, Imran Khan has been talking about his social media presence. He is known for films like Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, I Hate Love Stories, Break Ke Baad, Delhi Belly, Mataru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola. Lekha has acted in Telugu and Tamil films.
