“It was very difficult for me to survive in Mumbai”

Karthik Aryan is all set to act in this movie directed by Kabir Khan Chandu Champion, ahead of the film’s release, the actor, in an exclusive chat with NDTV’s Abira Dhar, opened up about the struggles of his early days in the industry. When asked about his journey, the actor said, “There have been many rejections even in terms of getting my first film. Before Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, I faced many difficult moments in which it was very difficult for me to survive. I didn’t have enough money at that time, I took loans from others. Living life, I used to think that I don’t have films and if my films don’t work, I was in a very bad phase of life. It just happened that Sonu clicked and it became a big film and it changed my life.

In the same interview, the actor also admitted that he’s got a “thing” for buying a luxury car. Asked if his parents were involved in maintaining his finances, Karthik told NDTV, “My parents are very involved in managing my finances. They fear what will happen if a film doesn’t work? Everything is temporary in this industry.”

Talking about his early days in the industry, Karthik Aaryan told NDTV, “Whenever I would go to an award show, I would take a ride from someone. When I had money, I would buy a car. The first car I bought was for some rebellious nature, but it was not a huge investment and Next I will build my dream house.

Chandu Champion Nadiadwala is jointly backed by Grandson Entertainment and Kabir Khan Films. This is the first time that Kabir Khan and Karthik Aaryan have teamed up for a project.
