“It wouldn’t have happened without my partner”

Parineeti Chopra, whose release is awaited Amar Singh Chamkila, shared a video, showing a collage of real-life pictures, along with reel versions of Amar Singh Chamkila and Amarjot (played by Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra). Parineeti Chopra captioned the post, “Diljit and I had the privilege of portraying two legends who changed the music scene in India… recreating their famous images in a film and seeing them again today makes me smile. Can’t wait. .Chamkilachi I used to share the world with everyone. It wouldn’t have been the same without me Spouse Diljit Dosanjh.”

The film will be a biopic on the late singer Amar Singh Chamkila, who was murdered on March 8, 1988 at the age of 27. Amar Singh Chamkila was the highest selling record artist of Punjab at that time. Diljit Dosanjh stars in the film which also stars Parineeti Chopra as Amarjot, his partner and frequent musical collaborator.

Parineeti Chopra summed up her journey working in the film and wrote, “I am so thankful for Chamkila. Imtiaz Ali sir, your direction was incredible; you steered the ship really masterfully. Earlier this week, the actress shared a BTS video from the set of the film, and she wrote in her caption, “How can I ever top this movie experience? Broke forever… shined.”

Amar Singh Chamkila The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali and the music of the film is composed by AR Rahman. The film is slated to release on April 12 on streaming giant Netflix. Imtiaz Ali and AR Rahman have worked together in similar films before Rockstar, Highway, Tamasha.
