Global icon Priyanka Chopra recently expressed that she wants her own daughter Malti Mary to feel safe with her. In chat with India Today, Priyanka Chopra shares what it means to be a mother and what advice she would give her daughter Malti Mary. Priyanka said, “I think children are not born for us, they are born from us, to live their own lives. And this is how my parents raised me and my mother raised me. And, you know, she always said I was your safe place. For Malati, I want to make her a safe space and let her do whatever she wants.”

A few weeks ago, Priyanka Chopra opened up about the “mommy guilt” she feels every time she leaves her 2-year-old daughter Malti Mary Chopra Jonas at home for work commitments. Unknowingly, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas welcomed Malati Mary through surrogacy in January 2022. In an interview with Quint Neon, she spoke about the “reality” of balancing career and motherhood. Priyanka shares her strategy to ease the pangs of guilt – get Malati Mary to join her on set whenever possible. Drawing from her own childhood experiences, where her parents introduced her to their professional world, Priyanka said she tries to instill a similar understanding in her daughter.

Priyanka Chopra said, “My daughter is surrounded by so many people, but I still feel guilty when I go to the sets. So, I bring her to me (on the shoot). I am privileged… My mother used to take me to the hospital. She and I used to play with her in the nurse’s station. .”

She added, “I would also visit my father’s office… This is one thing that helped me understand what my mom and dad (Ashok Chopra) were doing when they weren’t with me and I was going to school.”

Priyanka will be seen next on the professional front Head of State, featuring Idris Elba and John Cena. She will also be seen in it The BluffFrank E. Directed by Flowers. It also stars Karl Urban.
