Gangs of Wasseypur star Manoj Bajpayee revealed in a recent interview with Sushant Sinha that he was offered the role of Chunnilal in the film but turned it down saying he wanted to play Devdas. In an interview with Sushant Sinha, the family man was asked if he has ever turned down a film that was a big hit. He said, “Yes, I was offered the role of Jackie Shroff in Devdas, but I immediately said no. I told Sanjay, ‘Sanjay, friend, I always wanted to play Devdas.’ The film was a superhit, but I regret giving it up. I wanted to play Devdas since my theater days, I watched Dilip Kumar’s movie or read the book. But I never felt bad.”

Earlier in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Manoj had said that it was Shahrukh who took him to a discotheque for the first time. “He (SRK) was the only one who used to come in a Maruti van. I still remember the red maruti van in those days. It was he who first took me to the discotheque at the Taj in Delhi. I mean we were very young, we were out of our adolescence and we met. He was part of Barry John’s group for a while,” said the actor.

On the work front, Manoj will soon be seen in Family Man Season 3.

Manoj Bajpayee, who is awaiting the release of Bhaiya Ji, in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, opened up about The Family Man Season 3, a possible crossover with Shahid Kapoor-starrer Fergie Season 2 and more. The actor, who plays Srikanth Tiwari in the series Raj and DK, said, “I’m having a lot of fun. Shooting is going on now. We’ve completed a schedule. I sleep late at night and then you’re here. “Lee aana tha. Main family man ki hi shooting kar raha tha” (I am enjoying a lot. Shooting is going on. We have completed the schedule. I slept at 1:30 and then I had to come. Masterclass).”

The National Award-winning actor added that the third season will be “bigger and better” than the first two. “Then I will start the main shoot at the end of the month after the release of Bhaiya Ji. This will continue, we have a schedule till the end of November. The rest of the tracks are also shooting. (I will resume shooting later.
