Parineeti Chopra is getting a lot of love from fans and critics for her acting Amar Singh Chamkila, The actress, who plays Amarjot Kaur in the Netflix film, gained 16 kg for her role. In a recent chat with Raj Shammi, the actress spoke about the many factors involved in her weight gain journey. About her meeting with director Imtiaz Ali, she recalled, “In fact, when I signed Chamki, I got too fit. (Actually, when I signed up for this flashy, I was in pretty good shape at the time.) I’ve been working out for 2 years and I almost had abs. I remember very well that I went to Imtiaz sir who had a very fit body and I was dying to do this film. And Imtiaz sir offered me this film. And said, ‘But listen, you don’t look like her.’ And it was. It just changed in my head. I forgot two years of hard work in a minute. (Two years of hard work I forgot in a minute.) I put on 16 kg. I used to eat heavy meals and go to bed only to find myself bloated the next morning. And I have a proper double chin. And I wanted my eyes to look smaller. I used to eat rice and rotis – 3 or 4, to make it look like that. It wasn’t all fun and games What day do you eat pizza and table?(Eat that pizza and have fun.) Because I really wanted to look like her.”

Discussing the process of weight gain, Parineeti Chopra shared, “It took me almost 6 months. So it was 6 months of very unhealthy eating. My sleep was affected. I could not sleep well. It affected my mood because after two months you don’t eat clean, it affects your mood, you feel sad. My stamina was zero. 6 months of no workouts and here I am, weight training 4 times a week and doing cardio twice a week and at that point I was in my prime. Eating bad food, drinking drinks I don’t like. I don’t drink milkshakes and all that. I was drinking it all because very quickly (I wanted to get it). Also I had 2 years of discipline He wasn’t going to do it quickly. (I couldn’t gain weight fast enough.) I couldn’t gain weight. But I used to wear clothes and they were Indian clothes, which are very complimentary. So I used to look like myself. And I didn’t want to look like myself. I wanted to look like Amarjot Ji. I had to. This was the project I had been waiting for for 10 years of my life.”

Parineeti Chopra also spoke about how a co-star warned her against body transformation. She said, “I remember one of my senior actors. I told them that I have to put on 20 kg for this picture. And said, ‘You’re crazy.’ You will end your career. (I told him I needed to gain 20 kilos for this film. And he said, ‘You’re crazy. You’ll ruin your career.’) Don’t do that to yourself.”

The actress also addressed the rumors surrounding her weight gain. She said, “I lost brands, I didn’t do shows because I looked so horrible. I was very conscious and people started saying, ‘She’s pregnant. She has done liposuction. She has botox on her face. I don’t know what people say and I used to look at it and be like, ‘You’ll never understand.’ (I don’t know what all the people say, and I used to watch it and be like, ‘You’ll never understand.’)”

Talking about not losing weight and various attacks from people, Parineeti Chopra added, “I have not lost weight till date. There is also a struggle to lose weight. And people everywhere are attacking me and saying, ‘She looks bad, she looks terrible, blah, blah, blah.’ But give me a film, give me a project, and you’ll see me go in the opposite direction too.

Parineeti Chopra also got married Raghav Chadha With extra kilos. Talking about how it was a “sacrifice”, the star explained, “I got married in the middle of it all. The biggest day of my life, I did in this look. I made a lot of personal sacrifices – the brand, the wedding, the looks, the red carpet looks, I have lost everything, but I do not feel lost flashy, in which I obtained Amarjot. I have achieved a performance that I will take with me to the grave.”
