A new song from the serial titled Azadi was released today. The song documents the turbulent period in the freedom movement where the Hiramandi courtesans are at war with the British soldiers. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s aesthetic grandeur captures the beauty of the scene in which courtesans lead the procession as torch bearers. The song ends on a touching note where captive Aditi Rao Hydari is heard waiting on the other side of the wall chanting Azadi along with her other comrades. This song is composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Lyrics of the song are penned by AM Turaz. The song is sung by Archana Gore, Pragati Joshi, Aditi Prabhudesai, Arohi, Aditi Paul, Tarannum Malik Jain, Dipti Rege.

Sharing the song on its Instagram feed, Netflix India wrote, “Yeh Jung Sarf Love Aur Hukumat Ki Nahin, Har Haal Mein Azadi Pane Ki Hai! #AzaadiSong Out Now! Heeramandi: Diamond Bazaar Premieres 1st May, Only on Netflix!” See here:
