Cannes 2024: Naseeruddin And Ratna Pathak Shah, Prateik Babbar At The Screening Of Manthan

of this year Cannes Film Festival It is special for Indian cinema. The reason? Excellent work by Shyam Benegal churning It became the only Indian film to be screened in the Cannes Classics section. The film featured Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, Smita Patil and Amrish Puri. On Friday, the 1976 film premiered at a prestigious festival held in Salle Buñuel. In the pictures from the screening, we can see Naseeruddin Shah, his wife, actress Ratna Pathak Shah, late Smita Patil’s son, actor Prateek Babbar and Varghese Kurian’s daughter, Nirmala Kurian, among others present. They all look very excited as they pose for the camera in ethnic attire, representing India on the global stage.

Ahead of the grand opening, proud son Prateek Babbar posted a note for his late mother, film legend Smita Patil. The actor wrote, “The legacy lives on… 37 years since she passed away… and she still doesn’t stop blowing my mind..37 years after her death seeing her face at #2024 ‘Cannes Film Festival’.. her movie poster on #1976′churn’ Restoring it for a world premiere in the ‘Cannes Classics section’ will be one of the most iconic and symbolic celebratory moments of my life.. and her legacy.. Before heading to the French Riviera, Pratik BabbarIn an interview with Hindustan Timesshared, “My mom is going to be celebrated. It’s a big moment for me and my family. It’s very symbolic for me. I’m a very proud boy. This moment reminds me what an amazing woman she is and how much I am her son.” Lucky, my grandmother used to tell me the story of my lineage, I watch my mother’s movies again and again, it’s like watching friends for me- you know what’s going to happen next, but you keep watching,” added Prateek Babbar.
