Filmmaker Payal Kapadia All we imagine as lightIt has been selected in the prestigious competition section for the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, festival organizers announced on Thursday.

Kapadia is best known for her acclaimed documentaries A night of not knowing anything Won the Oil d’Or (Golden Eye) award at the 2021 edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The film premiered under the director’s fortnight section.

The official X page of the Cannes Film Festival has shared the list of films from around the world that will be screened under the competition section.

“We all imagine as light – Payal Kapadia #competition #Cannes2024,” the festival said in a post.

Kapadia’s film will be presented under this segment along with 19 much-awaited titles, including Types of Kindness By Yorgos Lanthimos, Megalopolis By Francis Ford Coppola, Hey Canada By Paul Schrader, the bird By Andrea Arnold, cover by David Cronenberg, and Anora By Sean Baker.
