Hiramandi: Diamond Bazaar Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharmeen Segal are in the lead roles. The Netflix show marked director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT debut. Sharmeen is his niece, who has been trolled for her performance in the serial. Sharmin played the character of Almajeb, a courtesan’s daughter in the web series. Addressing trolls, Shekhar Suman who plays Nawab Zulfikar Hiramandi, Mentioned that people were “very hard” on the actress. In an interview with etimesShekhar Suman said, “I don’t think Bhansali sir has realized that it could have an adverse effect. She is just his niece, and she has done films before. What has happened is that the world is very harsh on the poor little thing.”

“She is (Sharmeen Segal) a young girl and criticism can destroy her. People can go a little easier instead of calling her names where she was forced to disable her comments. She said she auditioned 16 times Hiramandi, So let’s be fair to him as he cast her,” added Shekhar Suman.

Sharmeen Segal’s performance in Hiramandi, Shekhar Suman She said, “I think she was very good with her character, she was very nice. Ask me why? I think all characters should act the same, not react the same. Even in our life, we come across characters who are very much in her eyes. It looked messy, but it wasn’t.

Shekhar Suman also opened up about how Sharmeen Segal played her role “in a different way”. He added, “Even when she learns about Tajdar’s (played by Taha Shah Badusha) death, she is straight. Because sometimes you don’t quite know how to react when you’re shocked, it’s not like you scream, beat your chest whenever you hear about a tragedy. So she has played differently. Otherwise Bhansali sir She couldn’t have been made to do that role, or fixed, had she been asked to give 100 takes. But it was not wanted. Every actor is different, like Sanjeeda’s Bibbojan is different, Faridan’s Mallika is different and everyone’s reaction is different. I thought what Sharmeen did was very new and refreshing. I didn’t see anything wrong with that. And there are different ways of looking at the character.”

Shekhar Suman shared his perspective on Sharmeen Segal’s character, stating, “I see Alamzeb as a very restrained character, who was very withdrawn and introverted and self-absorbed and very emotional. So in that sense, the character was beautiful to me. Worked. I think everyone can be good but don’t be so hard on any actor.”

Shekhar Suman’s son Adhyayan Suman is also a part of it Hiramandi: Diamond Bazaar.
