Actor Anjum Batra playing the role of Kesar Singh Tikki Amar Singh Chamkila, opens up about his experience of meeting superstar Shah Rukh Khan for the first time in Mannat. Anjum Batra said that he met them Dunky Star while assisting the actor with his Punjabi dialogues for the Imtiaz Ali-directed Jab Harry Met Sejal. Talking about Shah Rukh’s hospitality in an interview with Dr TV9Anjum said, “I first met Imtiaz in 2016. He was shooting for Jab Harry Met Sejal and there were some Punjabi dialogues that Shahrukh wanted to work on. Imtiaz took me to Mannat. It was me, Imtiaz and SRK. “We were talking all night. And a little work was done.”

Anjum mentioned that he and Imtiaz reached Mannat at 11pm and SRK arrived 15 minutes later as he was shooting for a film. Anjum added, “Shah Rukh told me, ‘Sit by my side.’ I said, ‘No, I’ll sit here, okay.’ He insisted, ‘No, you come and sit near me.’ I talked for hours, they just listened. He is a very good host. He asked me, ‘What to eat?’ He handed me a menu. I refused as I was not eating meat at that time. But then I insisted on having pav bhaji with him.”

Meanwhile, fans are praising the film’s unique narrative choices and the lead actors’ performances. On portraying the iconic character in The Great Indian Kapil Show, Diljit Dosanjh said: “I thought I would understand Chamki better because I am from Punjab. But after meeting Imtiaz I completely surrendered to him. The way he stood, the way he spoke, how he reacted and how he thought, all Imtiaz understood from his extensive research and homework on Chamkila.
