Taapsee Pannu fans, rejoice! We have some new information about her dreamy, intimate wedding. The actress married her longtime boyfriend, badminton player Matthias Boe, in March. The couple kept the wedding a private affair and did not share pictures or videos of the celebration on social media. Now, chat with him Hindustan TimesTaapsee talked about her wedding dresses. Stepping away from the classic lehenga, the actress shared that she opted for a salwar kameez for that quintessential Punjabi bridal look. She said, “I grew up watching Sikh, Gurdwara weddings, so for me the vintage idea, the classic idea of getting married was always in a red salwar kameez paired with a dupatta with a fringe on the border. I know a bride looks like a bride, and imagining wearing a pastel colored lehenga just didn’t feel like a real wedding to me.”
On why she didn’t approach a big designer for her wedding dress, Taapsee Pannu mentioned, “Also because when you have some big name on the board, the chances of news leaking out are very high and I wanted to keep it very private. So, my college friend, Mani Bhatia, designed all my outfits and that’s what I wanted. I didn’t have a single lehenga throughout my wedding because I had to dance a lot at all the functions.”
Sharing more details about her fashion choices for the festival, Taapsee Pannu added, “For Haldi, I wore a very vintage Punjabi style lungi paired with a kurta, which you saw at DDLJ, along with floral accessories. For music, I wore bell-bottom style pants and jacket with bling work on top and diamond solitaires as the only accessory. I wore traditional Punjabi for the wedding saggy flower These are hair accessories along with a very light necklace and earrings that my grandmother gave to my mother at her wedding. I had no one else Jing Bang For an Indian wedding. my sexual intercourse And Kalir was also very basic.”
As Matthias Boe is from Denmark, the couple incorporated two different wedding rituals – one Punjabi and the other Danish. Just as she wanted her Punjabi wedding dress to be authentic, Taapsee has reflected the authentic tradition in her Danish wedding dress. Revealing her trip to Denmark to meet a designer, the actress said, “I went to Copenhagen to see this designer called Lasse Spangenberg, because Mathias suggested the name to me. My sister Shagun and I were in Denmark for five days, we did all the fittings and so on and I took my entire gown, veil, bird cage, everything and came back to India with it. Denmark has a tradition of wearing something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue on your wedding day. So the gown was ‘new’, I wore an ‘old’ pair of heels from my closet, I got pearl earrings from my stylist Devki and I got some important dates of our relationship engraved on my veil. In ‘blue’ color.
